Was reading an article in Novembers '03 about how car manufacturers are aiming the market toward kids that can't even drive yet. Mitsubishi was said to be the worst, offering $0 financing and catch music campaigns. Ironically, Mitsubishi also has the highest repo rate of any other manufacturer. But here is the tidbit on Nissan beginning to follow the same lemming path. "In November, Nissan is launching a half hour weekly radio show- taped inside a Nissan Altima - on urban radio stations in 10 markets. The customized Altima is also being driven around to places where young people congregate: Onlookers are invited into the car and interviewed, and their comments are put into radio ads. Nissan is also working to place cars in more video games - so far it's done well with Gran Turismo. "Even twelve-year-old game players get interested in the car, talk about it with friends and aspire to buy it," says Welsey Brown, an analyst with Nextrend, a consumer-research firm." It's not like it was a suprise.. just thought it was funny that Nissan got hit with this label. Feel free to insert you $.02
